pop...

Our culture is a mixed bag of money, money and, well, money. How does Pop Culture (that which sells) affect our daily lives and our Worldview as it relates to Jesus Christ. Jesus said to the rich man "sell your possessions and follow me" and the rich man walked away unable to do so. How do we critique our culture, embrace it and at the same time reject it for the sake of Jesus Christ? How does capitalism affect those around us, including the poor in India, Africa, Central America and even in the United States?
You may be unsure what Pop Culture really is. For deeper research into what pop culture looks like check this brief history on the subject out at... http://www.fccj.org/library/deerwood/reference/pop.htm.
Steve Beard will be leading us into discussion tomorrow at 'the well.' Check out his take on the subject at http://www.thunderstruck.org/.
